The President presents Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Awards
The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil presented the
Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Awards for the Years 2006 and 2007 at a function
in Guwahati in Assam on October 19, 2008. The Editor-in-Chief of the
Indian Express Shri Shekhar Gupta received the award for the Year
2006, while the eminent actress and social activist, Smt. Shabana Azmi
received the award for the Year 2007. Smt. Azmi however could not be
present at the function due to unavoidable circumstances.
