The President of Maldives, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Nasheed met the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil at Rashtrapati Bhavan on December 24, 2008. This was the first overseas visit of the President of Maldives since he assumed office. The President of India congratulated him on his election. During the discussions the two sides re-affirmed their strong ties of friendship.
