Prime Minister of Portugal and President of the European Commission call on the President
H.E. Mr. Jose Socrates, Prime Minister of Portugal and H.E. Mr. Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission called on the President of India, Smt Pratibha Devisingh Patil at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on 30th November, 2007. Steps to strengthen relations between the India and European Union were discussed. It was emphasised that being the two largest democracies in the world, India and the European Union were natural partners in an increasingly multi-polar world.
